mountain colors crazy foot

We have a new sock yarn - Mountain Colors Crazyfoot - and the colors are gorgeous! We stock and love their Bearfoot sock yarn, but all of the colors are a bit dark and rustic. Not so with Crazyfoot! Light and bright colors sum up our stock. One skein at 459 yards is all you need to make most anyone a pair of socks and the 90% superwash merino and 10% nylon will make them super soft and long lasting!

mia and maya
Let me introduce you to Mia - one of Tahki's newest yarns. A lightweight, thick/thin, 100% cotton with lots of texture. With a suggested gauge of 3 stitches to an inch, you can start and be finished before you know it. This sweater is perfect for those summer evenings indoors, and looks so much better than the "coat" that I take to keep warm at the movies.
You may also want to check out Tahki's Maya (Mia's big sis). It is also, a thick/thin cotton, but with a gauge of 2 stitches to the inch. Mia - Maya, what to do??? We have both in stock - Mia in all colorways available - so come see which one you like best.

The summer issue of Interweave Knits arrived yesterday. I have only thumbed through, but I like what I have seen so far!

malabrigo arrived
If I do not hurry and get this post done, our Malabrigo will be
sold out again! Last week we received some Worsted, Lace and the new Twist. I went in Monday to pull myself a couple of skeins of Twist in my new favorite color - Plena (to the right) - and it was already sold out! We are currently stocked in everyone's favorite Churra - which is the lovely brown and blue. I made sure to order plenty. The good news is ... we are waiting on more to arrive. We expect more Worsted and Sock to arrive very soon.
I did want to let you know that we have started the Bliss Yarns Wish List again. When you come in next be sure and get your list started. We will also send an email, to anyone that you request, providing them the details of your list. How easier can shopping be for all of those husbands out there?

IT is here!

Two blog posts in two days - yes it's true! Today while at the store working on an endless mound of paperwork, there was a knock. Although the lights were off, our UPS guy must have noticed I was in because there he stood with a large box seemingly waiting for me to unlock the door. Guess what he left for us? A big box of KOIGU! We will be busy tomorrow morning getting this on the shelves.
This is also the perfect time to announce our new Sock Yarn Swap. Many are working on the mitered square sock yarn blanket created by The Heathen Housewife (aka Shelly Kang). We have decided it is much more fun to have as many different varieties of sock yarn for you to get your hands on. So beginning this Thursday at Sit 'N Stitch we will begin swapping! We have designated the first Thursday Sit 'N Stitch of each month to be the ongoing swap night. If you want to participate you will need to bring your sock yarn leftovers in either 10 or 20 yard cuttings. I create my "hanks" by measuring a yard between my hands, looping it around ten or twenty times, folding it a few times and then tying loosely. Very scientific! This is going to be so much fun.
