nursery block blanket
Emily recently finished Nursery Blocks, Modular Baby Blanket from Knitting at Knoon. It is just the right size for a bassinet or stroller, and is quick and easy to make. She chose solid pinks and purples, but a variegated would work beautifully as well. Emily's class, mitered squares baby blanket, starts June 4th and runs for 3 weeks. Sign up while there is still space. This super cute blanket will make a super cute baby a great gift this spring!

my blooming cotton scarf

Do you remember the Blooming Cotton Scarf by Eunny Jang in Interweave Knits Spring 2009? It is also a free pattern on knittingdaily.com. I knew that I wanted one the moment I saw it. I used the suggested Tahki Cotton Classic, as there are so many colors to choose from, and it is great to work with. This is the easiest scarf ever. You only need to know how to knit and slip a stitch. It is knitted in the round and you only work with one color at a time. When finished you cut through each round and then unravel until the patterning starts. That is it- except for the light blocking!

berocco's mica

In an earlier post, I mentioned Mica, Berocco's newest creation, and that I was excited about starting a project with it. I finally decided on the wide scarf - the Courant - pictured on the cover of their new Booklet #286. I am really enjoying this yarn! It is cool like cotton, smooth like silk and strong like linen. It is actually a cotton, silk and linen blend, with a bit of nylon! It has a beautiful sheen and I believe the drape will be perfect for a scarf or shawl. Come and see all of the colors available. We have them all in stock. I will keep you updated on my progress, but remember I am not a fast knitter!
