the latest arrivals & the PROVEN benefits of knitting

After a long wait, Malabrigo finally arrived.  We received lots of worsted and a bit of sock - mostly solids.  We expect all of the sock colors, so stay tuned.  That shipment also included Malabrigo's first pattern book.  Be sure to check in out when you are in the store.
We also received a huge shipment from AraucaniaChacabuco - the one I can hardly wait to work with - is a 100% pima cotton with a thick/thin texture.  At 3 stitches to the inch on a number 10, most anything you choose to knit will move along quickly.   I have decided on the color you see here, I now need to decide what to do with it.  I am thinking of a summer cardi.  Also new to us and Araucania is Lonco.  It is a 100% mercerized cotton with a gauge of 6.5 - 7 stitches to the inch on a number 2 or 3.  It is dyed in solids and multis and the colors are very bold and saturated.  Beautiful to look at!  Lastly, we replenished our Ranco Solid and Multy.  It is considered a sock yarn, but  Emily is currently working on the Forest Canopy Shawl using Ranco Multy and it is beautiful.  I will post pics very soon.  Check out this video at CBS NEWS -
